Leaps, balance, apparatus skills and emotion on the mat. This photo report from a rhythmic gymnastics tournament in Brno brings together a selection of my images from the competition.
During each routine, I look for both technique and expression: a leap at its highest point, a turn, the movement of a ribbon or a gymnast’s concentration before the next element. Each photograph captures part of the work and personality behind the performance.
This gallery shares some of the moments I photographed in Brno, from action on the mat to the small gestures that are also part of the competition.
Looking for a photographer for a rhythmic gymnastics competition? Based in Torrevieja, I offer photography and video for gymnasts, families and clubs in Alicante, the Costa Blanca and Murcia. Travel to other tournaments is available by arrangement.
